Juniors in DRC

What we offer

The DRC is committed to providing young people with a safe, enjoyable and challenging experience.  We will provide opportunities for all junior rowers regardless of their age, rowing ability, aspirations or commitment to rowing.  Each year we attend a number of competitions in the region and beyond which are open to all juniors and seniors.  However, we do not insist that all juniors compete and will not allow them to do so until we believe they are ready.

What you can expect from us

The DRC has a duty of care to protect all children from the hazards inherent in a strenuous water sport, and from any form of physical or emotional harm or abuse during DRC organised activities.  The details of how we organise junior activities can be found in our Junior Supervision Policy, a copy of this can be found here and on the noticeboard in the Clubhouse.

Junior Coordinator

My name is Simon Stocker, and on behalf of the Committee and all the Members of Deben Rowing Club (DRC) I would like to welcome your child and your family into the world of rowing on the River Deben.

It is my responsibility to ensure that the Club provides an open and welcoming environment for all juniors and their parents. These pages explain what the Club can offer, what you can expect from us and what we expect from our junior members. Please note that we currently have a waiting list for new members, but get in touch so that we might keep you up to date with the current situation. My DRC email address is juniors@debenrowingclub.co.uk
